Overview The Bal Jeevan Trust School for Street Children provides education and healthcare to impoverished and homeless street children of Mumbai, India. It started as an act of faith. Concerned citizens, with minimal funds, began to work under a tree to ensure that “rag picking” street children received better treatment than the deprivations of the street.  From a nucleus of twenty children in 1994, they now have over 80 children in two large, airy rooms with blackboards, fans, lights and desks.  The Vakola Municipal School has rented these two rooms to the Bal Jeevan Trust. 
Role Kindness In Action provides $5,000 each year to the Bal Jeevan Trust to help maintain the school.
Accomplishments Since 2005, Kindness In Action funds have supported two full-time senior teachers, 1 child/parent counselor and the daily supply of milk for the school children.
